Dawn Tyson a woman with great passion for helping the less fortunate in her community. Dawn has been a Case Manager for non profits for 20 years and currently is a Housing Case Manager for the last year.
Dawn believes that all people, including those addressing mental health , DV victims, substance abuse and people with disabilities, need to be treated with respect and given a second chance to rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families, friends and community. Everyone deserves a safe place to live. Dawn has also worked in co-ed shelters and women and children shelters. Dawn has collected donations and food for the shelters in her area.
Dawn's part time job is working with the elderly as a companion. Dawn enjoys working with the elderly and making sure they are able to stay in their homes by providing this service to them. This is dear to Dawn's heart because she had a close relationships with her grandparents when they were alive.
During free time, Dawn enjoys giving back to her community through her church and local community organizations. During the pandemic, Dawn offered a getaway for a family to enjoy her backyard with a beautiful lakeview. Dawn also volunteered to deliver food to needy families in Conneticut.
Dawn has a strong faith base. She was brought up in the Catholic Church and attended Catholic schools St. Mary's Grammar and Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, CT. She then attended a black college, Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA with a BS degree in Psychology and minor in Child Psychology. Dawn is also a proud mom to a creative, talented, funny, kind, handsome and God fearing young man who resides in LA, California.
